My inspiration with these figures was from Egon Schiele. When he draws people, they are very exaggerated, and although I didn't go to his extreme, I tried to create at least the exaggeration of a skinny stomach. This goes with the idea that people are constantly telling me that I'm skinny. They say it with a negative connotation, as if my body shape is a bad thing. People have actually said to me: "You're so skinny. Do you even eat?" For a while I was concerned with my body shape and size and these daily reminders from people even today bring me back to the time where I didn't like my body. These figures explore the guilt and shame I feel when hearing these bullying words and the pain that comes along with it.
